Aside from Stardew Valley’s re-review, only one new game received a 10 from IGN this year, and it was none other than FromSoftware’s first Elden Ring DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree. This new expansion not only adds an entire new area to The Lands Between to explore, but a suite of new weapons, armors, and even combat styles like martial arts, makes FromSoftware’s magnum opus even better.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle grabs the hearts of fans of the famous archaeologist from the very first minutes. Sandfall Interactive’s debut game is a masterclass in presentation, storytelling, and gameplay. You may not have expected to see a turn-based tactics TMNT game, and especially not from one of the most prolific indie teams of the last few years. Deliver At All Costs is a delightful blend of the familiar and the new, giving players a unique experience that goes far beyond its chaotic exterior. The color scheme comes from video games, where “orange” loot is often best, with purple, blue, and green tiered loot following. “Mighty Man” is OpenCritic’s way of tagging games based on the scores awarded to them by top critics.

Every Ign Star Wars Game Review

For the magic averse, it’s also possible to muscle about with a mace in one hand and a pistol in the other, for example. Like in all the best RPGs, it’s not the world you hope to save that matters, but the frivolous jobs you do along the way. I remember a dubious situation between a Paradis woman and her weirdly adoring Xaurip admirers more vividly than any of the major plot beats. Likewise, visiting my companion Marius’s vanquished home village, crouched in the shadow of a giant volcano, was more impactful than finally confronting the fascistic antagonist for the first time. I was more proud of saving a brothel in Paradis than I was of deciding to have mercy on a villain who I really ought to have, in retrospect, killed.

Their card analyses come from actual gameplay testing, and their strategies are approaches they’ve used to climb ranks. This open-world – or rather, open-worlds – action game features a level of gunbattles and broken promises befitting the legend that is Chewbacca’s best mate. However, Star Wars Outlaws essentially delivers a Han Solo-like experience in both good and bad ways; it has some handsome looks and a strong sense of adventure, but it’s also somewhat scruffy around the edges and is liable to let you down from time to time. More action-focused than its predecessor, this sequel is visibly closer to the classic Resident Evil 4 in its moment-to-moment gameplay – but blends this with the survival horror elements that we love about older entries.

They ensure reviews undergo a thorough editing process for fairness, transparency, and accuracy. In the end, the story does figure out how to punctuate this vicious final chapter in a memorable, very terminal way. The games themselves continue to be terrifying, with riffs on hide-and-seek and jump rope eliciting boatloads of existential dread. On its own, Squid Game season 3 is a fitting end to a great indictment of capitalism, greed, and inequities; one that not only ties up loose ends but also sets up a potential franchise.

If you liked the base game on Switch, the Switch 2 additions enhance the experience in exactly the way you’d expect and hope, arguably fulfilling the game’s potential on the handheld hybrid where it struggled before. That aside, it’s an undeniably fine demonstration of Nintendo’s thoughtful design approach. It’s cute, it’s fun, and it’s a shame the whole pack-in argument overshadows the delightful software. Anyone interested in tech, design, or Nintendo in general should check it out immediately. Review
